Responsible Business - Let's take responsibility

Responsible Business hotel in West Midlands
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. Read more about the RB programme.

All hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the corporate international charity organisation of the Rezidor Hotel Group, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

The Park Inn hotel in West Midlands has a staff and management team dedicated to positively influencing the key issues of health and safety, community, and the environment. Guests and employees work together to act consciously and to reduce the hotel's environmental impact.

RB activities:

  • Actively reduce energy consumption with energy-saving lamps in all rooms and an equipment switch-off program
  • Actively reduce waste and ensure responsible disposal by working with local authorities to develop a sustainable recycling program
  • Actively working with suppliers to ensure that goods purchased are ethically traded
  • Advise guests to participate in the hotel's clean towels program as well as paperless office and battery recycling incentives
